AIRPORTS
New Airport - the Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport and is situated at the former RAF Finningley air base.

Sheffield City Airport located close to the M1 junction 33 is currently not running services for any commercial airline. The limitations of the runway length which precludes the use of long haul flights has been a disincentive. When ecomonies were made, Sheffield Airport suffered and one by one, the airlines withdrew.
Some aviation facilities are still available there though. See our Sheffield Airport section for links to the new Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

Other airports commonly used by local residents are those at Manchester, Leeds-Bradford and East Midlands.

RAIL
Sheffield's mainline Railway Station is the Midland Station. Travellers from London should use St Pancras Station in the capital to reach Sheffield.
